About Us

Hi, I’m Maddie — a Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist, veterinary technician, and lifelong animal advocate. I’ve fostered, volunteered, and worked in animal shelters for years, and dogs have always been a constant in my life.

My journey into canine nutrition began with my own dog. When I brought him home, I followed the kibble recommendation from the shelter — only to quickly realize something wasn’t right. He struggled with soft stool, low energy, allergies, and a complete lack of interest in his food. Watching him feel unwell pushed me to look deeper into what was really inside commercial pet foods.

What I discovered was eye-opening: hidden fillers, poor-quality ingredients, and marketing designed to make subpar foods look safe and nutritious. From there, I began researching and experimenting — exploring higher-quality kibbles, fresh foods, raw diets, and homemade meals. The changes were incredible. My dog’s energy returned, his coat improved, his allergies disappeared, and his overall health transformed.

That experience shaped everything I do today and led me to create Crunchy’s Canine Nutrition.

Nutrition is the foundation of my work, because I truly believe food is one of the most powerful tools we have to support long-term health. Every dog is different — some need help with skin and coat issues, others struggle with digestion, chronic concerns, weight management, or picky eating. I specialize in creating individualized plans that may include improved kibble options, fresh food, raw diets, or homemade recipes tailored specifically to your dog. I also help pet parents choose healthier bones, chews, and treats that support overall wellness.

Over time, both personally and professionally, my approach has expanded beyond nutrition alone. As I shifted toward a more holistic and homeopathic lifestyle for myself and my dog, I noticed meaningful changes in overall well-being — not just through food, but through lifestyle, environment, and thoughtful supplementation. Because of this, I now also support clients who want guidance beyond diet, including education around supplements, herbs, grooming products, and everyday wellness choices — always with nutrition as the core.

I also believe strongly in helping pet parents feel confident advocating for their dogs. The veterinary world is not always focused on holistic or homeopathic options, and that can feel overwhelming or intimidating. I help clients understand available alternatives, prepare informed questions, and feel empowered when discussing nutrition, supplements, and wellness choices with their veterinarian — all while encouraging collaboration and respectful communication, not conflict.

I have completed over a year of advanced coursework in canine herbalism and continue to pursue ongoing education, expanding into both Traditional Chinese and Western herbal approaches. Alongside this, I am professionally certified through multiple canine nutrition programs and organizations, with hundreds of completed continuing education hours. Supported by my background as a veterinary technician and years of hands-on shelter experience, I bring a balance of real-world practicality and evidence-informed, holistic guidance to every nutrition and wellness plan I create.

My mission is simple: to help dogs live healthier, happier lives — and to empower their humans with the knowledge to support them. Whether you’re looking to make small, intentional changes or completely rethink how you support your dog’s health, I’m here to guide you.

Because when our dogs thrive, their whole world — and ours — lights up.
