Frequently Asked Questions

How does this process work?

The process is simple and starts with the Contact Me form on my website.

You can use the contact form for anything — whether you’re ready to start a service, interested in a full diet review, or just have questions and want to learn more. Asking questions is always welcome and free.

If you’re interested in the Nutrition Support Subscription:

Just note that in the contact form. This subscription is designed for ongoing text support and quick questions — it is not a full diet overhaul. Once I receive your form, I’ll send you a payment link. After payment, you’ll receive my number and can text me throughout the month for support.

If you’re looking for a full wellness  review or nutrition plan:

Tell me a little about your dog and what’s going on in the contact form. I’ll follow up with additional questions. Once I receive your responses, I’ll send a payment link for the initial consultation. After payment, I’ll send you my recommendations, next steps, and outline how we would move forward.

If you choose to continue working with me, your initial consultation fee is applied toward your final plan total. If you decide not to move forward, the consultation fee is non-refundable.

While you’re always welcome to message or comment on social media, the contact form is the fastest and most organized way to reach me and ensures everything stays in one place.

What if my dog is already healthy/How do I know this is right for me?

If you’re unsure whether you need a service or which option is right for you, the best place to start is always the Contact Me form.

Even if your dog is already healthy, there are almost always small improvements that can support long-term health, happiness, and prevention. This might look like swapping out one ingredient, adding a couple of supportive supplements, adjusting treats, or fine-tuning what you’re already doing — not a full overhaul.

If you’re not sure which plan fits your needs, we can talk through what each option includes and decide together what makes the most sense for you and your dog. And if it turns out you don’t need a full plan, that’s completely okay.

Everything I do is individualized, supportive, and goal-focused. Whether you’re looking to make small changes or simply want reassurance that you’re on the right track, reaching out through the contact form is always the first step.

Can you collaborate with my vet?

You are always welcome to share anything we discuss with your veterinarian, and you can involve them as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

I do not actively work alongside veterinarians or reach out to them on your behalf. I am a nutritionist, and I am qualified to work independently within that scope. For many cases — especially when we’re making dietary adjustments, food swaps, food trials, or adding supportive holistic elements — a veterinarian is typically not involved.

In more complex or severe cases, such as when reviewing blood work, managing long-term medications, or tapering off medications, a veterinarian may naturally be part of the process. If I see something that I believe requires veterinary involvement — whether that’s updated blood work, medical evaluation, or urgent care — I will recommend that to you.

I do not replace your veterinarian, and I do not diagnose or treat disease. My role is to support your dog through nutrition, holistic guidance, and lifestyle adjustments, while helping you understand your options and advocate for your dog when needed.

Ultimately, how and when a veterinarian is involved is always your decision, unless a situation clearly falls outside my scope — in which case I’ll be upfront with you.

What do you look at when working with a dog?

Every dog is different, so what I review and recommend is always tailored to the individual.

For dogs who are not thriving or dealing with more complex concerns, I may review things like medical notes, blood work (when available), lifestyle and environment, and overall health at home. These cases often involve more in-depth questions and ongoing communication to make sure we’re addressing the full picture.

For dogs who are generally healthy and doing well, the process is much simpler. We may focus on fine-tuning the current diet, running food trials, swapping or adding in healthier options, or making small adjustments based on your dog’s specific needs and goals.

If you’re simply looking to add supportive, healthy elements to your dog’s routine, we’ll keep things straightforward and intentional — no unnecessary changes.

The level of detail, questions, and communication will always match what your dog needs. My approach is never one-size-fits-all, and I’m here to support you through the process, whether that means small tweaks or a more comprehensive review.

How long does it take to see results?

Everything is so dependent on the dog. Dogs are individuals and depending on the severity of the case, what paths we are choosing to follow, and how your dog reacts physically and behaviorally, it’s unclear.

What if my dog is on medications? What if my dog has food allergies or sensitivities?

That is no problem at all! Sometimes medications are needed and we can work around them. Othertimes, we can find a better solution. For food allergies, if we already know your dog is 100% allergic, we will not add that into their diet. I usually always start with food trials to confirm allergies or sensitivities.

Do you support raw, fresh, or homemade diets?
Do you work with kibble-fed dogs?

I support complete and balanced raw, fresh, and homeade diets. I frequently work with kibble fed dogs and have no problem sticking with kibble! My own dog is on a rotation of all of the above!

Do you work with puppies, seniors, or special-needs dogs?
Do you work with multiple dogs?

Yes! I am open to all kinds of dogs, lifestages,  and helping multiple dogs in your household!

How are you different from veterinarians offering nutrition help?

Veterinarians are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions across many species. Nutrition is typically covered in a limited capacity during veterinary schooling, and while many vets offer basic nutrition guidance, it is only one small part of a very large and demanding profession.

Nutrition is my specialty. I focus solely on canine nutrition and holistic support. I’ve completed hundreds of continuing education hours through CE-approved courses, along with years of hands-on experience working directly with dogs. My work goes beyond basic dietary recommendations and looks at the full picture — including food quality, bioavailability, lifestyle factors, and individualized needs.

I am also not sponsored by, affiliated with, or backed by any pet food or supplement companies. This allows me to make recommendations based entirely on research, education, experience, and what works best for the individual dog — not industry influence.

In addition to foundational nutrition education, I’ve pursued further training in holistic and integrative approaches, including herbal support and traditional practices, always with safety and appropriateness in mind. I’ve seen meaningful results not only with my own dogs, but with the dogs I work with every day.

Veterinary care and nutrition support serve different but complementary roles. My job is to educate, guide, and support dog owners through nutrition-focused and holistic decisions, while working within my scope and referring out when something falls outside of it.

Why did you choose the holistic lifestyle?

My choice to follow a holistic approach comes from both professional experience and personal results.

After working as a veterinary technician, animal care specialist, and adoption counselor, I’ve seen firsthand how much emphasis is placed on reactive care — often after issues have already developed. While veterinary medicine absolutely has its place, I became increasingly interested in what could be done before problems arise, especially through nutrition, lifestyle, and preventative support, and after problems have arisen.

When I began shifting my own dog to a more natural, supportive lifestyle, I noticed significant improvements in overall health, energy, and well-being. That experience pushed me to learn more — and the deeper I went through education, research, certifications, and hands-on work, the more confident I became in the role nutrition and holistic care play in long-term health.

Through continued learning and experience, I’ve also noticed consistent patterns among dogs who thrive long-term: simpler diets, less reliance on highly processed foods, thoughtful lifestyle choices, and individualized care rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.

My goal isn’t to replace veterinary care or tell owners what they should or shouldn’t do. It’s to educate, inform, and empower dog owners so they understand their options and can make decisions that feel right for their dog. I’m here to guide you through the process, help you take intentional steps, and support a healthier, more balanced lifestyle for your dog.
